About Me
I have been an unexpected pastor since God grabbed hold of me and dragged me into the ministry in 2007. In doing this, He upset all of my plans and priorities, and things have been beautifully different ever since.
God has given me a wide range of interests and passions. He has stirred my heart with a love of reading and studying Scripture, theology, culture, and ministry. God has also given me a love for writing. So, here I am.
My calling as a pastor is “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12, ESV). That’s what I hope to accomplish through this substack. Actually, it’s what I hope God will accomplish through this substack. If I’ve learned anything during my time in ministry, I only plant and water, God does the growing and equipping.
As you scroll through my sermons on this substack, you will find me covering a smattering of topics, primarily relating to the Christian life because these are the topics my congregation is wrestling with.
Each post will have a passage of scripture focused directly at the top. That’s because “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17, ESV). So, if I want to equip the saints, I better be using God’s Word.
